A collision involving a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance and a car in Pacoima Wednesday left four people injured, including a female patient and two paramedics, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 11 a.m. in the 12700 block of West Osborne Street, at the intersection with San Fernando Road, said Amy Bastman of the LAFD.

Two LAFD paramedics in the ambulance, along with the patient they were tending, were taken for hospital treatment in fair condition, Bastman said.

The driver and lone occupant of the sedan, a senior citizen, was initially assessed as being in serious condition, but the man was later said to be in fair condition.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.

Police advised the public around 1:50 p.m. to avoid the closed intersection of San Fernando Road and Osbourne Street for the next six hours.
