An 18-year-old man was fatally shot as he stood on a Reseda street early Monday in what appears to be a gang-related attack, according to Los Angeles police.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Zelzah Avenue and Cantara Street about 1:50 a.m., said Officer Drake Madison. The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, died at the scene, the LAPD spokesman said.

“It appears to be a gang-related shooting,” Madison said, adding that the assailant who walked up and shot the victim was described as a male between the ages of 16 and 18.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call the LAPD’s West Valley Division at (818) 374-7611. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
