A 28-year-old man has pleaded no contest to pimping a 15-year-old girl and was immediately sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Patrick Lamont Harris also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life as a result of his plea to a single count of human trafficking of a minor for a commercial sex act.
Prosecutors said Harris met the 15-year-old victim in February 2016 and began pimping her online. He would rent hotel rooms and drive the teen to various locations to perform sex acts on men, prosecutors said.
Investigators came into contact with the girl while conducting a sting in March 2016, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
Harris was initially charged with four counts of committing a lewd act on a child and one count each of human trafficking of a minor, pimping a minor under 16 years old and pandering by encouraging a minor under age 16 — all felonies.
He could have faced life in prison if convicted of the original charges.
The sentence was handed down Thursday.
