A Glendora resident who was an Army reservist was convicted Monday of molesting a girl for five years starting when she was 8, as well as raping an adult woman numerous times for a year.

Jurors deliberated for a day before finding Fadi Haddad, 40, guilty of five felonies: two counts of forcible rape and three counts of committing a lewd act on a child.

Haddad faces a maximum sentence of 75 years to life in prison, with sentencing set for Sept. 6 at the Pomona courthouse. He is also expected to be ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Prosecutors said Haddad sexually abused a girl for five years, beginning when she was 8 years old. In 2015, the girl reported the molestation to an adult, who notified police.

When authorities investigated the report, an adult member of the girl’s family came forward to say that she had been raped by Haddad on several occasions over the course of a year, according to prosecutors.

At the time an arrest warrant was filed, Haddad was working as an Army reservist out of Fort Hood in Texas. He was extradited to Los Angeles in May 2016 and has remained in custody since then.

The District Attorney’s Office did not disclose how Haddad knew or had access to the victims, nor what their relationship may be.
