A Glendora resident who was an Army reservist has been sentenced to 75 years to life in prison for raping a woman and molesting a young girl.

Superior Court Judge Mike Camacho also ordered Fadi Haddad, 40, to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Haddad, 40, was convicted Aug. 21 of two felony counts of forcible rape and three felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child.

Prosecutors said Haddad sexually abused a girl for five years, beginning in October 1999 when she was 8. In 2015, the girl reported the molestation to an adult, who notified police.

When authorities investigated the report, an adult member of the girl’s family came forward to report that she had been sexually assaulted by Haddad on several occasions over the course of nearly a year, according to prosecutors.

At the time an arrest warrant was filed, Haddad was working as an Army reservist out of Fort Hood in Texas. He was subsequently returned to Los Angeles County in May 2016 in connection with the case and has remained in custody since then.

The District Attorney’s Office did not disclose how Haddad knew or had access to the victims. He was sentenced Wednesday.
