A 65-year-old woman pleaded not guilty Monday to fatally stabbing her 93-year-old roommate at a Long Beach assisted-living facility.
Linda Womack is charged with murder in the July 24 killing of Alice Pritchard.
She was ordered to return to court on Oct. 25, when a date is expected to be set for a preliminary hearing to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
Police called to investigate a stabbing at the assisted living home at 3100 E. Artesia Blvd. — dubbed The Chateau — found Pritchard with wounds to her upper body.
She died at a hospital.
The motive for the stabbing was unknown, police said in a statement issued the day after the attack.
Womack is being held on $3.045 million bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.
