A person was found dead Thursday afternoon along railroad tracks in the Cypress Park section of Northeast Los Angeles, but it was not immediately clear if the victim had been struck by a train.
A Metrolink train crew reported seeing the body about 2:35 p.m. in the area of San Fernando Road and Avenue 19, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Train service was suspended as officers and the coroner’s office investigated, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim’s name, age and gender were not made available.
