A motorist was killed Friday when his vehicle rolled off the Century (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles and down an embankment.
The crash occurred a little after 8 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at San Pedro Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the scene at 8:14 a.m. reported that one person was pronounced dead at the location and were assisting in recovering the body from the vehicle, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A SigAlert was issued at 8:43 a.m. shutting off traffic on the eastbound freeway at San Pedro Street for an unknown duration, the CHP reported.
