A man riding a bicycle was killed Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Koreatown and the driver was later arrested, police said.
The crash was reported around 2 a.m. in the area of Western Avenue and San Marino Street, said Sgt. C. Barlow of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Bureau.
Both the bicyclist and the vehicle were traveling south on Western when the vehicle was believed to have rear-ended the bicyclist before continuing on, she said.
The victim, who Barlow said was possibly in his 30s, died at the scene.
The vehicle believed to be involved was located and the male driver was arrested, said LAPD Officer Mike Lopez. The suspect’s name was not immediately released.
