Woman passenger injured in Koreatown hit-and-run crash
One woman was injured when the car she was a passenger in ran a red light Friday morning and collided with another car in Koreatown, police said.
The hit-and-run crash was reported around 1 a.m. in the area of Beverly Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, said Sgt. C. Barlow of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Bureau.
A man was driving a vehicle east on Beverly Boulevard when he collided with another car at the intersection of Normandie Avenue, Barlow said.
The man fled the vehicle while his female passenger, who suffered some facial injuries, fell out of the vehicle and was found on the ground, Barlow said. She was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Barlow said.
The female driver of the other vehicle was not injured, she added.
The man ran to a residence nearby and has been in contact with police for the investigation, but police are still classifying the collision as a hit- and-run because he failed to stay at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
