Three people were wounded in a pair of apparently unrelated gang shootings just before the midnight hour in southwest Los Angeles, police said Sunday.
The first incident was at 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of West 84th Street. There, police said a 20-year-old man was shot in the knee and a 45- year-old woman was shot in the foot as they were getting out of a vehicle, as several vehicles passed by them, said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD‘s Media Relations Section.
Both were taken to a hospital, and the shooting was believed to be gang related, Lopez said.
About 15 minutes later, in the 8300 block of South Western Avenue, a 20- year-old man was shot several times during an argument with a teenager, he said.
That shooting victim was taken to an area hospital in a private vehicle and his condition was not immediately known. This shooting is also believed to be gang related, he said.
It was not immediately known if the two shootings were related.
