A woman was killed when she slammed her car into a disabled Nissan van on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Irvine Thursday.
The woman, whose name and age were not immediately released, crashed her 1988 Honda Civic into a 2017 Nissan NV3500 in the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of MacArthur Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Nissan was disabled with a flat tire when the car crashed into it, the CHP reported. It was not known how fast the car was going.
The Nissan’s driver — Tom Chanh Lau, 72, of San Gabriel — escaped injury.
