Firefighters Saturday subdued a stubborn fire in the walls and on a multiple-level roof of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Hollywood, authorities said.
It was reported at 1:16 p.m. in the 300 block of North Western Avenue, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It took 71 firefighters one hour and 23 minutes to put out the flames, Stewart said.
“The fire extended through several walls and moved up into the complex roof line, with facades and additional structures, requiring extensive work opening the walls and ensuring the fire was fully extinguished,” she said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage were still being determined.
