A 41-year-old woman suspected of intentionally running down a boy with her vehicle in La Habra and then leaving the scene was facing charges Friday of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
Norma Alcazar of La Habra was arrested on Thursday, as were her two juvenile sons, who police say got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim after he was struck about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Harbor and La Habra boulevards, according to La Habra police.
The boy sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, while the suspects fled the scene, police said.
The woman allegedly struck the boy because one of her sons had gotten into some kind of altercation with him, according to a news report.
Investigators located the unoccupied vehicle soon after the collision and detectives later made the arrests, police said.
