A fire damaged a commercial building housing a garment business in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday and left a firefighter injured.
Firefighters were sent to Priceless Apparel Inc., in the 700 block of East Pico Boulevard, at 4:49 a.m. extinguished the flames in 47 minutes.
Paramedics took the firefighter to a hospital in fair condition for treatment of “facial trauma,” said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Arriving firefighters found the roof had collapsed in the 100-by-300- foot building, and they went into a defensive mode, successfully preventing the flames from spreading to adjacent businesses.
Some power lines were downed, and utility crews were sent to repair them.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. A damage estimate was being tallied.
