
A Los Angeles police officer saved a baby’s life after the boy was slammed to the ground during a fight between the man and his wife, police and media reports said.
The domestic dispute was Saturday evening inside an apartment near Columbia Avenue and Miramar Street in the Rampart Division, according to LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman and NBC4 news.

The 3-week old infant stopped breathing after his father slammed him to the ground and LAPD Officer Alex Frasier from Rampart Division revived the child using chest compressions after he responded to the call, Eisenman and NBC4 reported. The child’s current condition was unknown.
A neighbor called police after hearing screaming and yelling coming from the apartment, NBC4 reported.
“It’s just unbelievable someone could hurt a child,” neighbor Leonardo Artiga told NBC4.
The child’s mother suffered scratches in the fight, police reported. And she ran outside screaming for help, neighbors told the station.
The unidentified father was arrested for child abuse, authorities said.
