
Search teams Saturday located the body of a man who jumped into the water from the Santa Monica Pier.
The jumper was reported just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. An exact location of where he jumped was not reported. He was later found by search teams at 9:37 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.
After recovery, the body was hoisted to the pier and turned over to the Santa Monica Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.
The jumper was described as a black man in his 30s, wearing blue jeans and a red T-shirt.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach command center asked anyone with information regarding the jumper to call them at (310) 521- 3801.
