A 20-year-old woman pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of injuring eight victims in a marijuana-fueled collision in Orange.
Adriana Sabrina Cadena was charged Friday with three counts of child abuse and endangerment and one count of driving under the influence of a drug causing injury. She also faces four sentencing enhancement allegations of inflicting great bodily injury, according to court records.
The two-car crash occurred about 11 p.m., Sept. 2, at the Orange (57) Freeway and Orangewood Avenue, said Sgt. Phil McMullin of Orange Police Department.
Ten people sustained injuries, most of them minor, McMullin said. According to the charges, there were eight victims.
“A lot of them were complaints of pain,” McMullin said. “One had broken ribs or a pelvis.”
Cadena was booked at the time on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana, McMullin said.
One of the cars had six people in it and the other had four, McMullin said.
Three boys and a girl were injured in the crash, according to court records. McMullin said some of the victims were taken to Children’s Hospital of Orange.
