Los Angeles Police Department detectives Tuesday are investigating what they said they believe was a gang-related shooting in South Los Angeles that left a 17-year-old boy in critical, but stable condition.
The victim was sitting in a car near 55th Street and Western Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Monday when an 18-year-old man walked up to the car and opened fire, said LAPD Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez.
The shooter then ran off in an unknown direction, Borjorquez said.
The boy was taken to the hospital, Bojorquez said.
