Two alleged burglars who returned to the scene of the crime were arrested in Claremont Sunday, police said.
The pair allegedly threw a rock through a rear glass sliding door of a home and ransacked the place, accessing jewelry, purses and other valuables inside, said Claremont police Sgt. Eric Huizar. The burglary happened about 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Brigham Young Drive.
“They (the suspects) fled the scene in a gray Mazda 6,” Huizar said. “Later in the evening, the suspects returned to the crime scene and they were spotted by a relative of the victim.”
That relative followed the suspects and notified the police, who detained the two alleged burglars at Ninth Street and College Avenue, he said.
Pedro Rodiguez, 24, of Ontario was being held on a no-bail parole hold. The other suspect, Alexis Perera, 23, a transient from Huntington Park, was held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Both were set to be arraigned Tuesday.
Claremont police asked anyone with any information regarding the burglary to call them at (909) 399-5411.
