A woman is in jail Saturday after she barricaded herself inside a Garden Grove home following what police said was a domestic violence incident involving a knife.
Officers were sent to a home in the 13000 block of Lampson Avenue at 9:40 p.m. Friday and determined the suspect, identified as Kelsey Schutz, 29, attempted to stab the victim, described only as a 38-year-old man, but he was able to run out of the residence, according to Sgt. M. Lord of the Garden Grove Police Department.
Schutz barricaded herself inside the home, armed with the knife, then eventually surrendered, Lord said.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered during the incident. Once she was medically cleared, she was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail, Lord said.
