A man was stabbed to death in Long Beach and police are searching Thursday for the his attacker.

Officers responded about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to a reported possible stabbing near the intersection of Orange Avenue and Wardlow Road and found a man with stab wounds, according to Lt. G. Prieto of the Long Beach Police Department. The victim was taken to a hospital where he died, he said.

Detectives are on scene and there is no evidence the stabbing was a result of a traffic collision in the area, said Prieto.

No information on a suspect or a motive was immediately available, Prieto said.
