Sheriff’s detectives Saturday investigated the death of a man who was intellectually disabled and may have been left inside a vehicle for an unknown length of time in West Covina.
Deputies responded to a fire rescue call at 8 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of South Frankfurt Avenue and located a victim who had suffered an unknown type of medical emergency, according to Deputy Trina Schrader with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives learned that the victim, described as a white man in his 50s, was intellectually disabled and may have been left inside a vehicle, Schrader said. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with detectives and was detained for questioning.
