Police Thursday released surveillance camera images of a man wanted in the armed robbery of a Macy’s store jewelry department in Pasadena.
Officers responded about 7:05 p.m. Sunday to the store at 401 S. Lake Ave. to investigate a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the jewelry department, according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Jesse Carrillo.
Officers arrived on scene within minutes, however the suspect was already gone. An immediate search of the area for the suspect was conducted, but he was not located.
“The male adult suspect in this case approached the sales representative … at the jewelry counter and selected several pieces of jewelry as if he was going to make a purchase,” Carrillo said. “As the items were being scanned for purchase, the suspect produced a silver colored handgun. He pointed the handgun at the victim and demanded the items be placed in a black bag already in his possession.”
The suspect walked off with items worth about $6,000, Carrillo said.
