Police Friday released video of a suspect who burglarized a home in the Hollywood Hills while the victim was at home.
The burglary occurred about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the 6700 block of Hillpark Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The victim was exercising in her living room when her doorbell rang repeatedly,” according to a police statement. “A few minutes later, the victim heard noises in her bedroom.”
When she went to investigate, she saw a man rifling through her end table drawers, police said.
“The victim confronted the suspect who fled through the front door,” police said. “The investigation revealed the suspect entered the apartment through an open bedroom window by removing the screen.”
The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s who was 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds and was wearing a gray long-sleeved short and black pants.
Anyone who recognizes or has information about the suspect or the “hot-prowl burglary,” as police called it, was urged to call Detective Patrick Aluotto of the LAPD’s Hollywood Station at (213) 972-2929.
After hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7.
