A narcotics suspect was arrested Wednesday morning after police said he led officers on a chase that began in a Gramercy Park neighborhood and ended in a traffic collision in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles.
Officers began tracking the suspect near Hobart Boulevard and 88th Street just after midnight when the driver took off, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect, driving a silver Mercedes, led officers along city streets, including Figueroa Street, Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard before he crashed into another vehicle in the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Florence Avenue, Orris said.
The suspect was taken into custody just after 12:30 a.m and transported to a hospital in unknown condition, he said. The man driving the other vehicle involved in the collision was also transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
