A man is being questioned Thursday in connection with the deaths of three people found inside a home in Newport Beach.
About 9 p.m. Wednesday, Newport Beach police received a call from the Irvine Police Department regarding a welfare check at 36 Palazzo after Irvine police came into contact with a man at the emergency room in Irvine Medical Center, according to Heather Rangel of the Newport Beach Police Department.
Officers went to the home in a gated community and found three people, two women and a man, dead inside, she said.
“It appears that all the involved parties were known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the area,” Rangel said.
The man at the hospital was being questioned by detectives, who conducted a homicide investigation at the home, she said.
The names of the victims or suspect were not immediately available.
Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call Detective Prince at (949) 644-3762.
