Two San Fernando Valley men were charged Wednesday with the shooting death of a 21-year-old man at a house party in Burbank last week.
Robert Allen Stout, 19, of Van Nuys, and Jose Anthony Valdivieso, 19, of Northridge, are set to be arraigned Monday on a murder charge stemming from Christian Guevara’s slaying early last Saturday.
The criminal complaint alleges that Stout personally and intentionally discharged a handgun causing great bodily injury and death.
Stout allegedly confessed to shooting the victim, according to Burbank police Sgt. Derek Green, who said Tuesday that “the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting are still being investigated.”
Police did not reveal Valdivieso’s alleged role in the crime, which occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. last Saturday at a home in the 4000 block of West Clark Avenue.
Guevara died after being taken to a local hospital, police said.
The gun believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered by investigators, Green said.
Stout and Valdivieso were taken into custody Monday by Burbank police and have remained behind bars since then, according to jail records.
