A 58-year-old woman was found dead along with her small dog under suspicious circumstances in an apartment at a senior living facility in Pomona and police searched Tuesday for her killer.
The victim, Ronny Wall of Pomona, was found just before 6 a.m. Monday by members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, who had responded to a fire alarm at 150 E. Bonita Ave., according to Sgt. John Edson of the Pomona Police Department.
Firefighters treated Wall, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, Edson said. A small dog was also found dead inside the apartment.
Pomona police detectives and Los Angeles County Coroner’s investigators were called to the apartment and a preliminary investigation determined Wall suffered several stab wounds to her upper body and had been physically assaulted, Edson said. There was also evidence a fire had been set inside the apartment, triggering the fire alarm.
The investigation was taking place in a third-floor unit at Serenity Villas apartments for seniors, according to ABC7.
“It’s crazy because it’s a senior place over here,” neighbor Regina Minor told CBS2. “So people die all the time, but you don’t hear about somebody actually getting murdered.”
Anyone with information regarding this incident was asked to call the Pomona Police Department at (909) 620-2085.
