Authorities Wednesday renewed their call for help in solving the killings of a young man and his mother, who were gunned down in Carson more than three years ago.

A $25,000 reward remains in effect for information that helps detectives determine who killed Jordan Love, 27, and Michelle Kelly-Love, 54, just before midnight on Feb. 27, 2016.

The pair were wounded by shots fired from a vehicle as they sat in a car in the driveway of a home in the 19500 block of Tillman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Jordan Love’s grandmother, who was in the back seat, was not harmed.

Michelle Kelly-Love died in the car. Her son got out of the vehicle and made it to the lawn, where he collapsed and died.

Kelly-Love was the mother of three children, and her son had an infant daughter, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“He was our best friend,” Dramika Pegues, Jordan Love’s fiancee, told reporters at a news conference shortly after the crime, while holding her baby daughter in her arms. “He was my best friend. He loved us very much.”

The reward was offered by the Carson City Council. Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
