Police Wednesday were seeking to locate an 11-year-old boy who ran away from home and was last seen near Ladera Heights.
Julio Contreras was last seen Tuesday walking in the 6300 block of La Brea Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“His foster mother ordered him a ride shared vehicle for him to go to Audubon Middle School located in the 4100 block of 11th Avenue,” police said. “Contreras never used the vehicle or went to school.”
Police believe he may be trying to get to his biological mother’s home in the 5200 block of Repetto Street in East Los Angeles near East Los Angeles College.
Julio is Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has curly black hair and brown eyes. He walks with a slight limp.
Anyone with information regarding the boy’s whereabouts was urged to call the watch commander at the LAPD’s Pacific Station at 310-482-6334.
