An 82-year-old Westminster man died Wednesday evening from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach.
Officers responded to the area of Edinger Avenue and Graham Street about 7:10 p.m. and located a white, 2009 Toyota Tacoma with damage to the front end and the driver inside the vehicle non-responsive, according to Sgt. Eric Warken of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The man was the only person in the truck and was not wearing his seatbelt. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Warken said.
A second vehicle, a gold 2006 Toyota Corolla, was located with major damage to the rear driver side passenger door and quarter panel and the driver, a 32-year-old woman from Huntington Beach, was still in the car and complained of pain, he said. It was unclear if she was taken to a hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the man driving the Tacoma was going west through the intersection as the woman in the Corolla was driving south through the intersection when the crash occurred, Warken said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash was asked to call Huntington Beach police Accident Investigator A. Turner at 714-536-5670.
