Three people suffered smoke inhalation and were hospitalized Saturday morning following a fire at an apartment complex in Garden Grove.
Firefighters responded to the 13100 block of Chapman Avenue, near Haster Street, at 2 a.m., where they located the fire and helped evacuate residents, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
A total of seven people sustained smoke inhalation and three were taken to a hospital, the OCFA said.
One of those taken to the hospital was a naked man, who was handcuffed by police before being transported, ABC7 said. It was unclear why the man was taken into custody.
Two Garden Grove police officers were among those who suffered smoke inhalation, ABC7 reported. It was unclear whether anyone was hospitalized.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
