A man in his early 20s was killed in a shooting in North Hills and the shooter was at large Saturday morning.

The shooting was reported at 7 p.m. Friday in the area of Chase Street and Orion Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Drake Madison.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Madison said.

The death was being investigated as a homicide, Madison said.

“It could be a drug deal gone bad, it could be some gang related information,” LAPD Lt. Mike Kozak told reporters at the scene. “I don’t want to speculate because we could think of a lot of different things. Obviously, it’s a very tragic incident.”

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
