A man was killed in a shooting in South Los Angeles, authorities said Wednesday morning.
It happened in the 9800 block of Van Ness Avenue in the Gramercy Park area just before midnight Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
An investigation determined a car was being driven on Van Ness Avenue when someone opened fire on the vehicle and the man was hit at least once, police said.
A witness in the vehicle said she heard gunshots and the victim pushed her head down. When the witness got out of the vehicle, she realized the driver had been shot, police said. The victim died at the scene.
A detailed description of the shooter, as well as a motive for the shooting, was not immediately available.
