A 24-year-old Riverside woman was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday in Riverside.
It occurred just after 5 a.m. when the driver was heading south on Streeter Avenue at a high speed and jumped a curb on California Avenue, according to the Riverside Police Department.
The Honda Civic crashed through several fences, struck a support post for a carport and ended up on its roof, police said.
Firefighters extricated the woman from the overturned vehicle, and she was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
“Several other parked cars were damaged in the crash, but there was only one injury,” according to a statement from the Riverside Fire Department. “A nearby business suffered damage to fencing as well.”
The crash was under investigation.
