A 21-year-old man was in custody Thursday after allegedly committing a series of convenience store robberies in Glendale.
Rashid Edwards of Brooklyn is accused of robbing a convenience store in the 500 block of West Colorado Boulevard on Monday, the Glendale Police Department reported. Surveillance footage captured the incident, which shows a man wearing a distinct jacket with a horse’s head drawn on the back.
On Tuesday, Edwards allegedly committed three more robberies in quick succession at convenience stores in the 200 block of South Glendale Boulevard, the 100 block of West Colorado and the 400 block of East Broadway. Police say they were able to link the crimes to the one on Monday because of witness descriptions.
Authorities spotted the suspect Tuesday and arrested him after a short pursuit. He has been charged with robbery and elder abuse, due to the age of one of the robbery victims, police said.
