One person was rescued Friday evening by firefighters from a burning unit in a two-story duplex in South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the 2000 block of Browning Boulevard, near Van Ness Avenue, about 9:25 p.m. and found heavy smoke showing from one unit, according to the department’s Brian Humphrey.
Firefighters quickly rescued a person and took the victim to a hospital in critical condition, Humphrey said.
A total of 28 firefighters extinguished the flames in 22 minutes, he said.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
