A man was fatally struck by a pickup while walking in Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.
The collision happened about 7:15 p.m. Friday at Redondo Avenue and Hill Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers found the man suffering from major injuries to his upper and lower body, police said.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of a 2020 Ford Ranger pickup left the scene but returned later and cooperated with the investigation, police said. Cell phone distraction and/or DUI were not considered factors in the fatal crash.
