A youth soccer coach accused of sexually assaulting a female player in Riverside was charged Thursday with two counts of lewd acts on a minor.
Jordan Russell Cohen, 25, was arrested Monday night and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside, where he’s being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Cohen was slated to make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
According to Riverside police Officer Ryan Railsback, detectives were informed Saturday that the defendant, who teaches soccer to children in the Orangecrest community, allegedly sexually abused a girl who is between 10 and 16 years old.
The minor’s name and the circumstances behind the alleged encounter were not disclosed.
Railsback said that following a two-day investigation, members of the police department’s Sexual Assault-Child Abuse Unit took the coach into custody without incident at his residence on Magnolia Avenue.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims not yet identified, according to Railsback. Anyone with information was asked to contact the SACA detective squad at 951-826-8716.
