A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with a non-injury officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Tuesday near 41st Street and McKinley Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“Investigators have confirmed that during the initial encounter, the suspect shot at the officers, but fortunately they were not struck,” an LAPD statement said. “After an hours-long search, a suspect was taken into custody after a contact bite from an LAPD K9 Unit and a handgun was recovered.”
The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was not wounded in the exchange of gunfire with police, authorities said.
