Two children were injured Monday, one seriously, along with an adult, in a three-vehicle collision just northeast of Lake Elsinore.
The crash was reported about 3 p.m. at Highway 74 and Trellis Lane. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, one of the children was ejected from a car, suffering major injuries, and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar in critical condition.
The other child suffered minor injuries, as did the adult, according to the fire department.
The second child was also taken to Inland Valley Medical Center, while the adult was transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.
None of the victims were identified.
Bands of rain were moving through the area at the time of the collision, but details regarding how it occurred were not immediately available.
