A man and a woman are expected to survive gunshot wounds suffered when they were standing near an intersection in Garden Grove and a gunman in a dark-colored sedan drove up, exited the car and fired several shots at them.

Officers were sent to Barclay Street and Maureen Avenue a little after 2:20 a.m. Saturday to respond to a shooting that had just occurred in the street. The officers located the victims as they were attempting to drive themselves to an area hospital, Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney said.

The victims were described as a 35-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. The suspect fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction, just after the shooting.

Garden Grove police asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at 714-741-5856.
