Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of drug possession and other crimes at a hotel in Covina, police said Tuesday.
Forestt Woodland, 25, Chase Byer, 21, and Teri Burress, 33, were taken into custody after detectives went to the Vanllee Hotel at 1211 E. Garvey Ave. late Monday morning, according to the Covina Police Department.
The three were listed as transients, police said.
“Covina … detectives were working a citizen tip of narcotics activity at the Vanllee Hotel,” a Covina police statement said. “While in the area, they observed Forestt Woodland tag graffiti on a power pole on Garvey Ave. Woodland was detained and in possession of burglary tools, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy pills, and related paraphernalia.”
The investigation led detectives to Byer, who was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, syringes, and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
“Both subjects told detectives they were staying in the same room with a female, Teri Burress, at the Vanllee Hotel,” police said.
Detectives served a search warrant at the hotel room and arrested Burress on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sales, police said. Detectives also were investigating Burress for possible prostitution, police said.
