A teenager who suffered fatal injuries when an SUV overturned just east of Moreno Valley was identified Tuesday as a 17-year-old girl from Calimesa.
The crash that killed Catalina Esteves was reported at about 11 a.m. Monday on Gilman Springs Road, between Lisa Lane and the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three people were injured, including two seriously, the CHP said.
Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the scene within a few minutes and immediately requested two ambulances.
Good Samaritans were performing CPR on one of the crash victims when paramedics arrived, according to reports from the scene.
Two patients were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with life-threatening injuries, while a third was taken to the same hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, according to the fire department.
Esteves died at the hospital at 11:53 p.m., officials said.
The conditions of the other patients were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
