Santa Ana police Thursday released surveillance video of a gas station robbery, hoping it would help lead to the arrest of two suspects.

The armed robbery happened about 2 a.m. Friday at a Shell station at 710 E. Dyer Road, according to Santa Ana police.

A chrome-revolver-wielding robber threatened a clerk, who popped open a cash register while the gunman’s accomplice retrieved cash, then several packs of cigarettes before they ran off, police said.

They fled in a silver, four-door Nissan Altima. Police provided a partial license plate of 3XL.

One suspect is a Latino man, about 5-foot-9 and 160 to 175 pounds. He wore a black hat with an unknown red logo on it, a yellow reflective vest, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The other suspect is about 5-foot-7, 155 to 165 pounds, and wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black surgical mask, yellow reflective vest, dark-colored gloves, black warmup pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at 714-245-8545 or email dpadron@santa-ana.org. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS.
