Relatives of a Gorman liquor store clerk killed in a traffic collision earlier this year in Valencia sued the driver of the other car Thursday for wrongful death and negligence, alleging she struck the victim’s car from behind and forced it down an embankment.
Bashir Albadawi, 73, of Frazier Park, was killed when his car was rear-ended near the Gateway Village shopping center about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 9, according to the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit.
Albadawi died a short time later and the suit attributes his death to the alleged “negligence and carelessness” of the other driver, Nancy Graham of Newhall Ranch.
The plaintiffs are Albadawi’s wife, Majeda, and his children, Samer, Feras, Jessica and Einas Albadawi Tarboush. They seek unspecified damages.
A representative for Graham could not be immediately reached.
Albadawi was described as an “amazing man” by Valerie Cason, one of his regular customers. She told the Santa Clarita Valley Daily Signal that they would exchange small talk frequently and he would always ask about her family.
