A woman who allegedly stabbed a woman in her 80s to death in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles was shot and wounded by Los Angeles police and remained hospitalized Monday, authorities said.
Officers responded at 9:25 p.m. Sunday to a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of North Wilton Place, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
The officers found one woman stabbing another woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, who did not disclose the suspect’s relationship, if any, to the victim or offer a motive for the attack.
Authorities withheld the victim’s name, pending family notification.
The suspect, whose age and name were not immediately released, was taken to a hospital in stable condition, officials said.
