A 25-year-old man accused of trying to abduct a woman at a Santa Ana bus stop with the intent of sexually assaulting her pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges.
Corey Ramond Camp is charged with one count each of kidnapping to commit a sex crime, kidnapping and assault with the intent to commit a sexual offense. He was ordered to return to court July 29 for a pretrial hearing at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
Camp allegedly grabbed a 58-year-old woman at a bus stop at 3600 W. McFadden Road about 7:40 p.m. Saturday. When her abductor started dragging her down the street, she screamed for help and a good Samaritan ran to her defense, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Police caught Camp running away as officers arrived to the scene, he said.
