Why was Dominic Muzsnai on the tracks when he was killed by a Metrolink train in Northridge?

While authorities Friday identified the 64-year-old victim, they were still trying to determine why he was on the tracks when the train approached Thursday morning on its way from Ventura County to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

The Ventura County Line 102 train was heading downtown about 6:40 a.m. near the 8600 block of Lindley Avenue when it hit Muzsnai who died at the scene, according to Metrolink and the Los Angeles Police Department.

But authorities did not release any other information about Muzsnai as they tried to solve the mystery of why the man allowed himself to be in mortal danger on the tracks as the Metrolink train approached.
